You're amazing but... Can you eat icing from a can...
I bought flowers (for Coujo’s birthday!) and a can of vanilla icing today at the neighborhood shop after work today. The man behind me in line (MBM) felt the need to comment:
MBM: Make sure you make a cake for that icing, don’t just eat it out of the can. Me: Can you read my mind? MBM: I used to do that. Me: Why do you think I got the brown bag. MBM: You’re not a closet icing...

You’re amazing but… I’ve fallen behind.
So, there’s been a fair amount of dinosaur happenings and amazingness during and since the holidays that I have been remiss in sharing. I will eventually catch up. At least that is what I always tell myself about nearly everything. But I have to start somewhere.
And the linked blog birthday card and the accompanying gifts (below)...

Happy Friday.

Wow, these scaled down versions are heartbreaking.
lucky in life, not in love
– Ryan Adams and The Cardinals, “Withering Heights” from Jacksonville City Nights
That phrase often rolls around my head. I think that pretty much sums me up: I was reminded today several times that I am really really really lucky in life. And I am really really really grateful for it. It...

Admittedly, some of it may be over the top: I’m sorry, I don’t really want a candy corn wreath.
But, as luck would have it, after a second of browsing the first thing I clicked on was this: Anthropologie inspired Knotted Bedspread (by kojodesigns) Here is the original I’ve whistfully patted every time I wander through the store during work: except in the red color they call...

– Overheard at the Academy of Natural Sciences today. She was a 20-something. She said it to her boyfriend - twice. And she followed it up with, “Are those skunks?” I don’t care where you were raised, honey. Every 5-year-old knows that a skunk is the black animal with the white...
